Summary

Adriana is our firm’s engine and pillar, ensuring that all of its nuts and bolts are not only connected and fine-tuned, but are always evolving and advancing to new heights.  One of those rare types of humans, who wears multiple hats with the same levels of ease and competence, Adriana manages all aspects of the firm’s practice.  She heads up the firm’s operations and management, accounting and tax, governance and compliance, employment and human resources, as well as marketing and business development.  Adriana also works closely with the rest of the team on client services and management, from conducting due diligence and research, to providing clients with advisory services on business and regulatory matters.

Adriana is particularly fond of the sitcom “Friends,” from where she derives much of her inspiration and wit, while bringing laughter to the team.  One of her favorite Monica quotes from Friends is: “I need you to be careful and efficient. And remember: If I am harsh with you, it’s only because you’re doing it wrong.”  This, sort of, sums up our Adriana…

Adriana began her career with the firm in 2013, first as the Office Manager and, ultimately, rising to senior management roles.  Adriana holds positions of the Firm’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Governance and Compliance Officer, among others.  Prior to joining the firm, Adriana worked for companies in Romania and Dubai, in the fields of accounting and management.  Adriana holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.  Adriana has also completed a number of professional courses and certifications in international accounting, auditing and tax.

Representative Matters

Adriana works closely with the legal team, managing matters of governance and compliance.  In addition to her operational role, Adriana also manages various aspects of the Firm’s clients’ matters.  In that role, she provides clients assistance with real estate portfolio management, asset and business management and audit/accounting.   She also advises clients on immigration, insurance, and compliance.

Accounting & Auditing

Adriana assists clients with devising and managing their accounting and auditing practices in the U.A.E.  She brings a wealth of experience in those fields in the U.A.E., to provide clients with practical and realistic advice and guidance.  She also manages and works closely with client’s accounting and auditing services providers, relying on her extensive experience in the region.

VAT

Adriana is responsible for the firm’s Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance.  In that capacity, she is well versed in the U.A.E. VAT laws and their application on local businesses.  She works closely with the U.A.E. Federal Tax Authority (FTA), accountants and auditors.  Relying on her knowledge and experience, Adriana also assists clients with their VAT structuring and management of their businesses and interests in the U.A.E.

Governance & Compliance

Adriana assists clients in structuring and managing their internal governance and compliance of their business practices in the U.A.E.  In doing so, Adriana relies on her extensive experience and knowledge in working with the U.A.E. and other international financial and regulatory bodies.  Among other things, Adriana is well versed in the U.A.E. Central Bank policies and regulations, as well as the Federal Tax Authority (FTA).

Insurance & Licensing

Adriana works with clients in helping them research and manage their insurance policies and practices, ranging from health insurance, to liability and malpractice insurance policies.  To that end, Adriana has significant experience in working with various government and private bodies, including the U.A.E. Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), insurance and licensing authorities, as well as others.

Corporate Matters

Adriana assists clients with company incorporations and complex corporate structuring.  She has assisted clients with devising corporate strategies and setting up corporate structures across diverse jurisdictions.  In the U.A.E., she works closely with various free zone and DED authorities, as well as all other licensing and governing authorities.

Human Resources & Employment

Adriana assists clients in structuring their human resources and employment practices and policies.  She applies her substantial and practical experience of devising and managing the firm’s employment practices and human resources.  Adriana also brings her experience of witnessing and assisting with employment litigation in the U.A.E. courts, to help clients devise employment manuals and guidelines, in line with the region’s laws and practice.

Personal Interests

Adriana is of Romanian origin, having grown up and been educated in a town of Cluj-Napoca.  She moved to the U.A.E. in 2012 and has since made it her second home, having met her husband here and built a family.

Adriana is a devoted and loving mother and wife, as well as friend and partner.  She derives her joy, enthusiasm and strength in life from her son and family.  Most importantly, she always makes sure that all those who are dear to her, always feel special and supported.  Her attention to detail and special touch to all that she does and all those whom she cares about are truly extraordinary.

Adriana is a fabulous and passionate cook, always inventing and experimenting, including testing her many recipes on her colleagues.  She also loves art and creativity, constantly exploring and educating herself in all things novel and exciting.

One of Adriana’s favorite sitcoms is Friends.  She derives much of her creative juices and quotes of wisdom from that show, causing either a round of laughter among some of her colleagues, or a complete blank stare among (the lesser “educated”) ones.

Adriana is especially passionate about travel.  And has particular infatuation with Japan and all things Japanese.  In her spare time, she dreams of sushi and macha tea.  And when she will go back to Japan again, just so that she comes back with more dreams of the same…
